Space Elevator

Welcome to the '07-'08 TJHSST Space Elevator project

The primary goal of this project is to bring real-world situations into a research based classroom. Students work on individual research that is brought together to create a large scale group project and compete with other teams toward a common goal. During the 2007-2008 school year, the Energy Systems Lab will be collaborating with Thomas Jefferson's Prototyping Lab and Robotics Lab in an attempt to mimic the large scale projects found at the university level.

This Space Elevator project at Thomas Jefferson is based on the Elevator 2010 competition that will take place on October 7, http://www.elevator2010.org. Currently the Elevator 2010 competition has 24 universities competing for $4,000,000.00 in NASA's Centennial Challenges program.
